It seems that some religions of the world are rather happy about former catholic bishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio becoming the new pope.
Since pope John Paul II held a day long prayer for peace in 1986 this sort of thing has been in vogue among many of the world's Catholics.

In October of 2011 pope Benedict held an inter-religious gathering on the anniversary of pope John Paul II's multi-faith prayer day. Pope Benedict did not, however, allow prayers to be offered between faiths as each religious group prayed silently in individual rooms.
Pope Francis (Bergoglio) has sponsored inter-faith prayers as well, especially since Benedict quoted a Byzantine emperor as saying some of the [false] prophet Muhammad's teachings were "evil and inhuman." Gasp! Benedict actually spoke some truth there. Well that didn't set too well with the offended Muslims but Bergoglio seemed adept at patching things up.
Throughout his history as a bishop in the Catholic church Bergoglio reached out many times to those of other faiths with a message of peace.

Bergoglio brought leaders of the Jewish, Muslim, evangelical and Orthodox Christian faiths into the Metropolitan Cathedral to pray for peace in the Middle East last November. "Everything is lost with war, everything is gained through peace," Bergoglio said then. "With peace wins victory and respect."
Peace and safety seems to be an ever-growing and popular message in these war torn days.
Of course this brings to mind what Paul wrote to the congregation in Thessalonica,
"When people are saying, "Everything is peaceful and secure," then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman's labor pains begin. And there will be no escape."
- 1 Thessalonians 5:3
Clearly this is something that those who are "asleep" and not watching for Messiah Yahushua's return will be overtaken by, and thus lost in their own blindness.
An ancient Chinese proverb says, "May you be blessed with peace and safety in all four seasons".
People have been crying out for those things since nearly time began, but what the apostle Paul
was alluding to is something that will be very specific and noticeable to those who are in
Messiah Yahushua. May we have eyes to see and ears to hear our Shepherd's voice and those things going on around us.
As Yahuweh has said we are not to worship Him with pagan things nor learn the ways of the heathens, but are to worship Him in spirit and truth. That means we are to walk in His ways according to His Word and not follow after the teachings and practices of other faiths that deny Him as the true Elohim and Creator.
All of the world's major religions claim to have faith in the "God of the bible" but when holding their version of Him up to His Torah, both the written and living (which is Messiah Yahushua), there is no likeness to Him. Thus there is no true peace in anyone but Him.
