Quite a busy couple of weeks as the month of March (from the Roman god of war - Mars) comes toward an end.
As of 3/13/13 on our Gregorian calendar a new pope has been elected. The 1.2 million Catholics worldwide waited with bated breath for the appearing of their "vicar" - our Creator's so-called "representative here on earth.
Funny...I thought that was the Set Apart Spirit. Hmmm...

When watching the video below I can't help but ask myself, "Where is any of this in the Scriptures?".
What makes this so unique is the fact that this new pope replaces the previous one due to his early resignation...which hasn't happened in some 600 years. According to a "prophecy" by a man named Malachy this was "foreseen" that pope Benedict XVI would resign early leading to the last pope said to be Peter the Roman. Allegedly his pontificate would bring in the destruction of the city of Rome and herald the Apocalypse. I am not giving any credence to a Catholic "prophecy", however, the devil has his tactics and could be alluding to the destruction of Rome as possibly written in Scripture but perverting the truth with his spin.
At the same time we have the U.S. president Barak Obama visiting Israel for the first time in his presidency. Supposedly Obama will arrive in Israel on March 20th, just two days before the 22nd which is the day after the last day of winter (according to our calendar) and the day before the weekly Sabbath. Why point that out? According to various suggestions and prophecies this day is said to be the day that Messiah was referring to in Matthew 24:20 - "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath". Is this actually the context of what our Savior is saying? Would He be alluding to our calendar system and how it reckons the last day of winter?
Could the arrival of a new pope under such unusual circumstances and the first time visit of president Obama to the turbulent and prophetic center-point land of Israel at around the same time be nothing more than everyday events or might they be a part of something bigger going on?
Time will tell.
